Hey there family!
Things are going really great here in Philly, and I am
really excited to be working here in Germantown. I love it here!
We are working with a couple people here, but man, their lives are
complicated. I am a firm believer in how much better life can be if you just
commit now to live His commandments. Then the gov't doesn't follow you around as
much...hehe.
I love it here, and things are going great!
Thank you so much for
your help!I love you guys, and it means so much to hear from you all these cool stories! Keep up the good work! It helps to hear those things, especially when
it gets hard here.
We had a great experience this week, teaching a guy who
just couldn't get his mind around the modern prophets concept. We prayed and
planned, and we actually met him by accident. Someone had planted a 20 ft. radio
antenna on his roof the night before, and he didn't want it there, so he broke
it with a hammer, just as we walked around the corner. we went in, taught him,
and his concerns just came to us. What we taught to them resolved his concerns! He and his wife should be baptized on the 20th, so keep praying for them!
I
love you guys so much, thank you for all you do! Tell all the kids I said
hi!

Hey there,
It sounds like you guys are having a pretty good time there in Belgium! I love you guys, and I hope all is going well!
We had some pretty cool experiences this week. We ran into a few Hebrew-Israelites, or people who claim to be from the tribe of Judah, who pride themselves on telling white people they are going to hell, and can twist the Bible to back it up. It was a pretty rough conversation...ugh. I'm staying in Germantown for another six weeks, so that is pretty exciting, and I hope I will be able to see some fruits from these people we are working with! They are having kind of a hard time keeping that good ol' testimony, you know?
I love you guys! Thanks so much for you help.

Hey Guys!
We are having a great time here! Transfers were here last night, but neither of us moved, just the two other elders in our apartment. We played a little tennis this morning. It's pretty ridiculous how nice this place is. I've lived in the ghettos all my mission. (remind me sometime to tell you about a guy in our old neighborhood they called "Boss".) Funny stories.
We have several good people we are working with nowadays, and we are going to have a great six weeks! Keep us in your prayers! I love you all!

Hey family,
We had a pretty good week this week. I learned a lot this week about how to do missionary work. God offers us a chance to really turn our lives over to him for about two years, if we will do just one thing, be obedient. As we do this, changes are wrought in our lives, unlike anything I've ever seen. If we don't, if we fight the rules, or change them to fit us, we are not changed by the law, and we cannot be sanctified by it. My new favorite scripture is in DC 88:34-35. Laws are given, for us. They protect us, and govern us. But, even more, they sanctify us. I had never realized that before, that our growth in keeping the commandments is much greater than just gaining physical discipline, but actually purifying us. Whoa.
We found a pretty cool lady this week, who really wants to get closer to God, and has the faith to see miracles. We are pretty excited to see her again on Wednesday, and it is going to be a really great experience.
We had quite the thunderstorm the other day. There was actually one roll of thunder that lasted 57 seconds straight! It was pretty intense. Part of our area got flash-flooded, and we camped out on a porch for a second, until we could get back to tracting. It was pretty cool, but we got SOAKED! It was a good experience. Tracting in a flood-watch definitely builds character.
Things are going really great here, and I got a package from the 16th ward, saying that Cade Koyle, Brenden Hatfield, and a bunch of others had gotten their mission calls! A couple to England, North Carolina, Chile. I was pretty excited about that! Life is definitely good in Philadelphia, and I look forward to sending pictures.
I love you guys, and thank you so much for everything you've done for me! You are great!

Hey everyone,
There are four elders living in our apartment, and one of them spent his childhood in Nurembourg, Germany. He lived there while his dad taught English and German at a school. It's pretty fun to talk to him about it, sounds like there are some pretty cool sights over there. It will be so cool to see those things, esp. the WWII stuff. I hear there's a lot of it.
We had a guy follow us tracting for a block, acting like he was taking pictures with a camera phone, just to make sure we weren't the Feds. It was pretty funny. We invited him to come teaching with us, but told him he might be bored if he did. He lightened up, but he sure doesn't like us very much. People like that are funny.
We had an interesting week, we are trying a new area to tract in, and it didn't work out too well. We had Stake Conference on Sunday, and it was pretty hard to help people get there, but a couple we are working with right now are doing really great. Just keep praying for them, (Sam and Anna) that they will recognize the answers to their prayers. We are teaching some other people too, but they aren't moving very swiftly. It really takes time for some people to grow and progress. They are really sweet, and they are always moving forward and improving their lives.
Philadelphia is just starting to warm up here, and things are going great. I can't wait! It's been too cold lately for people to even open their doors! Thank you so much for all your help, and I am so grateful for all you guys do!
