Hello there,
We are serving in a place called Germantown, in Northwest
Philadelphia. At first, we lived in an apartment right on the main boulevard,
(Broad St. and Lindley Avenue, Phila., PA 19141 if you want to google it), but
that block got a little dicey, and it wasn't even in our area, so they moved
us. Now we live in a VERY nice part of town. Our apartment has a
gym/laundromat/dentist office in the basement, and it's not nearly as crazy
here.
I found out that Anna Watson, a lady we baptized in the Spanish Area, is
doing absolutely incredible! She reads the RS lessons ahead of time, is 1/2 way
done with the D&C, and is a real example to the rest of the ward! She is
looking forward to going to the temple in about 8 months! I was very excited to
meet her and her granddaughter again on Sunday! It was so much fun!
Take some cool pictures
for me! I love you guys! Thanks so much!
Love,
Elder Wallentine

Dear Family,
Sorry for not writing for so long. We were trying to change apartments, and there's been so much going on lately, it's been crazy! We moved across town into another apartment, and it's REALLY nice. I guess what goes around comes around. I can imagine the missionaries in Boise were pretty thankful to have a dishwasher and a couch. Just the little things, right?
We had a pretty cool experience this last week. We saw an older couple trying to start their car, but it wasn't working, so we stopped and helped them over to the side of the road. We asked where they were going, and they were about a mile away from home. We and the zone leaders got out and pushed their car about a mile uphill! It would get really hard every now and then, but just then, the car would begin to push itself, just as if it were running downhill! We couldn't figure out why for a while, but I know We definitely had a little help there. We are currently teaching that couple. They are really great, and they came to church and loved it!
The work is going well, and the weather is just starting to get cold. Like, 8 degrees, 45 mph wind, and freezing rain kind of cold. It's pretty intense, but it's really pretty out here.
Thank you so much for everything you guys! I love you all, keep up the good work, so you can teach me some dutch! Thanks again!
